An Old East Dallas home built in 1930 by Clifford Hutsell, this home seemed to call for muted, complex colors. Being walking distance from White Rock Lake inspired references to nature throughout. Leaves, flowers, and vines adorn the breakfast room gate, drapes, and curtain rods. The angles of feathers and waves in the pelican print above the fireplace echo the squares in the peacock-flanked Batchelder tile. A forest mural wraps the walls of the stairwell and landing, and is repeated in miniature in the fox and crow painting.
